So one of the NISMO wheels has a slight curb rash..... The reason why I need a spare set of wheels is that I am considering getting them all powder coated black when I get the one fixed. What are your opinions about this? I love the wheels, but was just thinking of "making it my own" so to speak. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

GO for it! The wheels on my Z are factory too and that is one of the down falls, drive thrus, 4x4 friggn' speed bumps the list goes on that why they invented curb feelers back in the day. A nice flat color to match the body color and maybe offset it with chrome depending on how much you want to fork out for them. OH and I'm not saying in any way to install curb feelers lol! 8)

Here is one more suggestion, the sad part is even if you have your wheels anodized they are still going to be subjected to potential road rash. So in a nutshell depending on how much you want to invest I would suggest maybe going with some stronger wheels like the KONIG Privat Profil, that you can get in silver or black with chrome In a 19inch set for around $939.00 that is for the whole set before shipping or you might try the KONIG unknown wheels also in a 19 inch set made for the 350Z for $885.00 both really nice and would look good on your Nismo. I'm not trying to drum up sales for Motorsportauto but they have a lot more to choose from, those are just some cool examples.

I'd get the damaged wheel refinished. Stock wheels just look "right" IMO.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am still debating.

The stock NISMO wheels are RAYS Engineering Forged wheels, so I honestly don't see me getting a better set of wheels. The only wheels I would consider are the Work Meister S1's and they go for about $4000 a set, and I don't have that much to spend.

I really hate curb rash - I actually replaced a NISMO wheel on my '04 when I brushed a curb not more than two months after putting on the wheels!

While it doesn't happen all that often, I'm going to have to agree with Randy on this one...I'd either have the damaged wheel fixed or I'd simply buy one new wheel to replace it...as you mentioned, it's difficult to truly beat the quality and the look of the stock Ray's unless you want to drop some very serious coin.

Yep, get the NISMO's fixed. where are you getting them powdercoated at? There is a shop here in town that does decent work and the owner has a red NISMO (or had the last time i was by there)
